0.80.2.0 LuaUI not working, and no widgets are working

No crashes or anything, but the console constantly spits the error "LuaUI is not loaded", and all of the widgets are not working. I want my nice health bars back, not to mention the nice 3/4 column UI on the side.
Pressing F11 does the same thing as F12 - takes a screenshot. No widget panel appears. (which it did before)
uname -a :
Linux tv 2.6.28-15-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Tue Aug 18 18:40:08 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
graphics card :
nVidia Corporation NV43 [GeForce 6600 GT] (rev a2)
Didn't do this before the update. Problem after problem with this version of Spring. :-/

Thank you, that works. Any work around instead of doing that every game? :)

The only lua option i see in the spring settings is "Enable LuaShaders Support" which is turned on.

I have this too, but on windows. Same issue with springsettings, the option just isn't there.

I found the cause...
There used to be an option in springsettings to turn LuaUI off. Now the option has been removed but the engine still honours the setting if it is in you springsettings.cfg file. Doing a 'Reset Settings' doesn't remove it.
To fix:
Look in infolog.txt. Near the top is a line like:
default config file: C:\Documents and Settings\...blah..blah..\springsettings.cfg
or on linux:
default config file: /home/blah/.springrc
If that file has a line in it LuaUI=0 then that's your problem. Either remove that line or better still, remove the whole file and let spring regenerate it. Mine had all sorts of cruft from old mods and settings that didn't need to be there.

'cause'? Why do you assume this is the issue? You think Somtin turned off luaui spring versions ago and forgot?

Hm, it doesn't bother me that much atm, since the games i play have the setting "choose ingame" for spawns, so I have plenty of time to just reload it, but I will try that.
LuaUI was set to 0, setting it to 1, testing now..
Thank you very much, worked! I did change the settings to low, so maybe it turned off luaui itself, and when i reset it didn't put it back? Meh, whatever it was, fixed anyway so thanks heaps.
