Spring RTS Engine

I don't think this is possible via LUA but there is a gadget which displays player names. Well... I think it's a gadget, maybe it's part of the engine itself.

Anyway, it would be nice to know what the "lobby" rank of a player is when you're actually playing. It might help you decide what players should be trusted with important things, and which players should stay back from the fighting.

For instance, it's not uncommon for a game to start and one or two players to volunteer to fill a needed role. "I'll hold them off on the front if someone can give me tech 2", that kind of thing. Or "I'll build a fighter screen, please keep their units away from me".

The problem is, you don't always know if that nice fellow that just volunteered to fill a major role has ever played the game before, leading to unexpected results.

This can be done.

This is all that needs to be done. I miss that too and have to tabout sometims to find "weak" players at start.

I was considering giving veteran players a special dgun effect (graphics only) in BA but it would result in people trying to hack it sync errors and ughhh

looks like win. Does it use lobby rank or the rank that the autohost evaluates ppl on (if they are smurfs, ect.)?

I think that it use lobby rank. But i dont know yet what is "smurfs". And i can't find any info about that. Is this expirienced person with "newbie" account?

yes, a player with much xp but a new/low rank and also this
