Strategy For XTA

My strategies are too simple. Basically, i take 20 minutes on 3X to build turrets on "Great Divide". HLT in front, Punisher in back, 3 anti-missile defenses, front layer of scrap and dragon's teeth and , the most powerful, six anhilator cannons, also 10-20 flakkers. this will stop almost any assualt cold (from land and air), i also keep 30 fighters on patrol and 30 gunships to keep artillery from attacking.

Now i have this great defense , i charge foward and kill everything with a horde of zeus kbots over the mountains.

can you contribute better startegies to me (this would help in other games as well, becuase my stargy for supreme commander is the same)

seriously though, this might be helpful; its a bit outdated but it has at least some useful stuff.

Newer site, some good tips.

Porcing (the "strategy" you just described) is generally seen as very newbish, and is easily crushed/countered by anyone knowing half of what they're doing. But its alright, you're moving away from that strategy hopefully

err you should join the xta channel (type /j #xta in lobby) and talk to some of the players there, or join one of the games going on with other players.

sitting around and making defence for 20mins isn't usually the best strat, maybe try attacking earlier while making eco, use your commander aggresively etc

also, annhiliators are currently bugged in this xta and have aiming issues....

i have to agree with babbles, that isnt a good strategy. u ahve to rush early and scout, also expand fast. and i dont know how player will let u fortify THAT much in a real xta game (maybe if u ask :D)

hi
because of the 3x speedi guess you are playing vs the ai? For a better challenge add more bots (ally them) or ask in the ai whats the best ai for xta.
or type /join #xta in the lobbychat and try some online play.
You will then have to think of new tactics pretty soon ;)

Guides by Ik and TMO are in the topic to #XTA

M4A1: A good XTA player makes static defence only when he absolutely has to. In an ideal game you can win without making a single turret. You should never start a game *planning* to make defensive structures, this is completely the wrong approach.

I recommend you try making flash tanks :P

Spam AA bots and trucks to win. Dont forget to build 2 llts in yo base for rush nubs, you only need 4 solars to win the game.

Call pintle a nub, and decline every 1v1 game he suggests you play with him (watch him rage)

Oh yeah, use line draw, line draw is your new best friend.

You'll be able to beat everyone in xta with a repeat order and a line draw command.
