Seeing as someone started a demifail topic

whos in the heroes of newerth beta or needs a beta key .

The game is awesome (if you like dota) its pretty much a straight port stand alone version of dota on a nice new engine (more shiny) with awesome features better netcode and reconnect on disc. + new heroes and item

So discuss.

im in the beta with a group of about 16 players, i think we're mostly out of keys by now but check the facebook to see if you can snatch a key there. (they held regular actions where you got keys just by signing up at facebook)

i got like 5 keys and got keys for other people im in the beta 2 mainly playing with old clanmates IH

Can someone confirm that the devourer is one of the worst heroes?
It's absolutely useless at game start when faced with shooting heroes.
all his skills are only good at higher levels.
At lower levels you can't use the rotting,you cant use your hook cause its too short and it doesn't really stop em long enough.
you can't really benefit from cadaver since you just can't nitpick on your lane for long cause u get kited by ranged heroes.
So you end up with standard speed,standard hp hero without any spells or abilities he can use at start.
He get outleveled and later on its very hard to catch up since when you hook someone that is probably at a higher level it's hard to actually kill him fast enough before he runs away or before his buddies go across around the trees :) and gank you.
Iv played for a while now and i have never ever seen anyone picking him except me.Maybe once out of around 100 games.
in general,some heroes seem very good some seem sucky as hell.

dev actually is one of the best heroes you can get

1. he has one of the highest damaging attacks for any heroes that relies on a little luck and stealth to achive.

2. you can deny people their kill on you by killing yourself with poison gas.

3. he has a ton of hp.

4. hes a great escape catcher.

5. he farts when he dies (how awesome is that)


Also, learn to kite outside of enemy range, rake exp, and always go a bot lane with another player.


Hes shit at first, very deadly towards middle and end game


Also, i forgot to mention, he has the ability to take you away from allies, which imo, is the best thing ever, as groups strength is what decides whether you win or lose

If he was so rape wouldn't more people take him?

i played 5 private games today with competitive dota players he was in 4 of them and did well in all.
