Would you be so kind as to wikify this?

also, your mapconv link goes to users mapconv, which is not only fail, but an epic noob trap. Mine works as advertised.

Ah ok, I thought yours was a fix for it instead of the full thing judging by the file size.

*cough cough*

EDIT:
I like the idea! 8)

PS.
Maybe put modIt into "General"? I think its very useful especially for newbies being able to take a look at the different units calmly before hopping into multiplayer...

I'm going away for a week so I'll carry this on when I get back.
Also, I don't know "Wiki Language" so I wouldn't know how to chuck this into the Wiki easily. Feel free to do it for me ;)

Question, I have tried looking for a torrent link that has a mappack, I dont want to use tons of bandwidth on springfiles it already looks like its all been used up for the month. I just recently installed from a new install and a torrent would go a long ways to offsetting costs for whoever hosts springfiles. I would also seed if one was to be started, I have a linux machine thats always on.

Yeh, somebody should just pack up the top 50 maps or so and chuck em in a big zippo. Would make life a lot easier for some people.

Many links in this thread are outdated or wrong.
ie it links to
http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13261
which only lists the mods "BA, Spring 1944 (World War II themed), Complete Annihilation and XTA"
Instead of just linking to http://springrts.com/wiki/Games

The Modding & Mapping is done much better in the wiki.

Basically all the thread is at http://springrts.com/wiki/Read_Me_First already which is more up to date and also updated once in while year.

Thanks to Jazcash for collecting all the links but having all this stuff twice and sometimes wrong or deprecated is fail.
So I suggest to unsticky this thread and add any missing content to the wiki.
