Spring RTS Engine

Hello there, I'm rather new to these forums although not new to Spring. I love the collaboration that goes on on the project and have felt compelled to do something for the community... wow, it sounds as though I had some kind of "Spring calling"

But anyway, I was contemplating creating a couple of map packs - perhaps not ones with hundreds of redundant maps but two or three targeted packs containing a max of 20ish good quality, frequently played maps.

I was thinking perhaps...

• 1) A "Starter" map pack, for those new to the game so that they can jump in and get started in most battles.
  
  2) A second pack with a number of the most commonly played maps, other than those included in the "starter" pack, perhaps geared towards more experienced players.

I would like to get some opinions as to other possibilities, which maps you would like to see included... if you would even find such a thing useful at all

Not much point doing map packs when you can download any map you like in the lobby client.

Any 'starter map packs' would be those who came in the installer, and all you need for that is someone who is very knowledgable about the game, community, and maps (if you are new, this is unfortunately not you) to pick some.

If you want to contribute there are many avenues depending on your skillset.

Agree here, 1 click and 0 click downloads are better than any map pack.
