Spring RTS Engine

Hi,

i read the FAQ and searched the Forum for my freeze problem, but didn`t find anything helpful.

I am new to Spring and know nothing about it, but imho the problem is showing as soon there is some shooting the game.

Here are the infologs for 2 different games where the game jsut freezed:

Both times, its a crash of your nvidia graphics driver. Please try to update it.

I installed the latest Nvidia driver for Winx XP. Now it is not freezing anymore, thx for the advice.

After playing for a while the game now is just crahsing ^^.

I installed it in Ubuntu too, the "9.04 Jaunty Jackalope". There Spring also Crashes. Too bad i dont know where Spring saves the infolog files in Ubuntu.

Where do i find the infolog file in Ubuntu and do you have any clue why Spring is crashing now (infolog_003.txt).

By any chance does your screen seem to flicker at times, and then your whole game just freezes?

Or are you playing in windowed mode?

Oddly enough, my Spring always ends up freezing in Windows, but not in Ubuntu. >_>

BTW, ubuntu log can be found in your home/user/.spring/ folder

Driver crash again. Try maybe older drivers...

I have the same problem. It freezes as soon as any troops engage in battle.
Core: Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 2GHz
3 Gb RAM
Video card: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, 32-bit OS.

I can say with near 100% certainty that you have a graphics driver problem.

I just got the laptop less than a year ago, but that may be it. However, Kernel Panic works fine. Only issue I have is with BA, when a unit is hit by an enemy.

It's lups I believe, and yes, that is an extremely weak graphics card.

So, apparently the Intel Graphics media accelerator driver doesnt help at all, unless there are some settings I should configure. Ill see if lowering the detail and upping system dedication to visuals does anything. If anybody can tell me how to improve the quality for this graphics driver, please feel free to do so!

unfortunately, it's a well known fact that intel drivers for GMA chips aren't worth a dime. don't get your hopes up.

Ok, so are there any programs that could kinda patch this? Or any way I can tone down the graphics involved with the fighting? or do I have to stick with the other mods?
