Spring doesn't start - Graphics card error

This question has probably been asked many times before, but how can I fix the error:

Code: Select all

Error at position 41 near "ARB_fragment_program_shadow;

" when loading fragment program file groundFPshadow.fp:
1004: 'ARB_fragment_program_shadow': invalid program option
This has been happening since I got a completely new computer. I've got an Intel graphics card on the DG33TL motherboard. I haven't replaced it, it's the one that comes with the motherboard. I run Ubuntu (Jaunty Jackalope, 9.04) on it.

And I have tried turning all graphics to minimum.

Any help would be appreciated.

to my knowledge, there is no intel driver for linux that allows playing spring. the graphic card would support it, its just the driver.
soo...
maybe it is possible to compile a newer version yourself, but i think thtaas quite a pain, and htere is a big chance the latest drivers still do not support that.
-> use windows to play spring :/

I can't use Windows, it always breaks :roll: . I can't upgrade my graphics card driver, because it's the newest there is (unless I compile from latest source, which may still be the same version.)
