Sorry to disappoint but, we have Tried Before and have yet to get support added.

It's really kinda annoying, it would take them very little effort to add support.

Someone Posted this on their forums a while back

Code: Select all

[####]
LongName=Spring
ShortName=Tas
LauncherDirDefault=C:\Program Files\Spring
LauncherExe=TASClient.exe
DetectExe=spring.exe
Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% %UA_LAUNCHER_EXTRA_ARGS%
InGameRenderer=OGL
InGameFlags=USE_PRESENT|VALIDATE_USING_EXE_NAME|DISABLE_DIRECT_INPUT_HOOK|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE|BLOCK_ASYNC|ENABLE_BROWSER

Smile put in the games.ini file, might need to change:
LauncherDirDefault=C:\Program Files\Spring
to were ever u have it installed

sad to see, there were several attempts to support spring.

didn't look much around because i had a chat with a gfire dev and spring is not supported. so no spring in xfire and the posting about spring support in xfire was written by me.

maybe as many as possible supporters can change their mind. some hundred posts?

Why should Spring be supported in a spyware application?

pro: it is a very good tool for clans.

con: as you said, closed source, windows only

i use the gfire plugin for pidgin, which is open source. http://gfire.site40.net/

after rereading your post, because they need the users playing games. they support several open source games. if they dont support the games the users want, the next will jump in and and do a competing app. but maybe then open source and this they cant beat.

It would help friends stay together, also i have many friends who think i sit idle on xfire, when im actually playing spring a lot.

It would def bring more players.
