Subforums for the larger mods

You made a subforum for a fucking werewolf game.
You couln't make a forum for the like five active mods, so that we can talk about them in a reasonable manner?
Come on, guys.

Well-organized mods have their own websites and forums.

But what's the harm in supporting the badly-organized mods a bit in this way? It would also get more visitors to these forums.

An advantage would be that topics which really are about modding are going to be filtered out this way. A disadvantage would be that you'd always have a long mod/game list at the beginning of the subforum...
The "They should have their own forum!" argument isn't a really good one imo as not everyone has a) webspace, b) the knowledge how to set up a forum and stuff like that plus c) the knowledge/ambition to maintain a forum and secure it against the latest pron spam bots. Also most games/mods here have so few players that it's not really worth the effort and having to discuss the same things at two places at the same time sucks too then...
So imo this suggestion is worth a thought. Also when there now are questions to a mod there is no more hesitation to spam the mod's topic (i.e. subforum then). I mean we all regularly see someone (especially noobs) posting something about e.g. BA plus the follow-up comment that BA related stuff should go in the BA topic. With a sub-forum of its own newbies probably will post their stuff there and won't hesitate when it's about spamming the official release topic...

Look, ideally, BA should have it's own site. Let's not beat around the bush. This discussion isn't about XTA, or Gundam, or PURE, or Supreme Annihilation, or KP, or any other game. This is about BA.
But BA is just being maintained as a side-project by TheFatController. It has no real committed developers. Nobody's going to make and maintain, long-term, a website for it. And meanwhile, it has something like three quarters of Spring's players... to the point that to most uninformed gamers, BA is Spring.
So from a pragmatic point of view, BA needs a forum, and even if BA gets a forum, many BA players will go to forums @ Spring to talk about BA.
So why not just give BA their own forum? Spare the idealistic notions - yes, it's unfair to other mods, yes, BA devs should make their own... but that's not going to change. What actual damage would come from giving BA a forum?
Or alternately, don't be so pedantic about BA-related topics in General Discussion or Game Lobby (obviously, Help/Bugs and Modding aren't the places you want BA topic spam).

If we get a Spring subforum for BA, it'd seem that BA is "the official game of the Spring engine," further worsening the player ignorance/misnformation and OTA IP issues that are currently showing signs of resolution.

If you want to make a proposal, do it properly. Make a list.

Or just have a forum, where you can make topics about any spring mod, just tag the topic name with [BA], [EE], etc.

and any other mod that is reasonably complete and polished and wants one. let the mods decide, that's their job.

This is seriously the best idea ever and JonannesH is awesome. The mods don't have to endorse anything, but we can all talk about whatever we like in as many threads as we like. As in, have the luxury of being able to have one thread per topic!
Please do this!

Springinfo has offered hosting to any and all mods (and yes BA is welcome... If SA is welcome then why wouldn't BA be?), so mods not having webhosting as an excuse really doesn't fly very well.
Also, for everyone I have hosted I've offered to set up a wordpress install for them (Because you can essentially do an entire nice looking website with wordpress from the control panel, no html+php required).
I think darkstars has offered the same thing for even longer than springinfo has (by a long shot), so come on guys, lets be realistic here.
Now, what WOULD be nice is, a list of links at the top of the games and mods forum linking to our websites.

Why should I have to sign up to seven different websites to post about different mods? This should be the central hub for all spring players, we are not enough to be split up on seperate forums.
Just give us one forum to talk about mods in tagged threads, instead of the "posts about a mod go in the thread about the mod" rule.

BA only? A TA-based mod with next to no development showing off spring, and nothing else? There is no way that would happen. Try again.

I was suggesting that every active mod that wanted a subforum should get one. But my idea sucked, and JohannesH is made of awesomesauce and had this idea:

Do this please. Thank you.

Just because BA and other *A mods dont have there own website doesnt mean they deserve there own sub forums
get off yo asses and make one

I guess it's a good idea. Rename the Games and Mods subforum to "Modding." Then allow mod makers to request subforums under Game Lobby or under a new section. All BA, CA, XTA, etc. threads can move there. It would be more organized. After all even though this is the Spring Engine website, the engine is meaningless without the games themselves.

This is the website of the spring engine. How can you justify a forums game getting its own subforum, when the most-played mod on that engine doesn't?
And it's not like the talk about mods is forbidden or even discouraged here. It's just that said talk is forced into the most hideously stupid and non-accessible form possible: the megathread.
A thread is supposed to be about one strand of conversation! One topic! It should have a meaningful name, and the posts in it should adhere to the topic stated in the said title.

It's ridiculous that for instance CA has a 73 pages long thread. Who is going to bother to read all of it? If nobody reads it, who is going to find out about the
new Chicken Tag?
EDIT: And what if someone wants to comment on Chicken Tag when it's buried beneath 5 pages of not related CA posts?
Another example:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=18431
I was suggested twice that the topic didn't belong to that forum. Still, most of the strategy topics ARE posted in that sub-forum!
There's nothing wrong about having multiple sub-forums, for instance one for modders, and one for players.
This forum for instance has separate sub-forums for game components, and it works pretty well.
Though due to the evanescent nature of the mods, and the fact that you would need to decide if a mod is big enough to have it's own subforum, I think this is really the best idea:
Or just have a forum, where you can make topics about any spring mod, just tag the topic name with [BA], [EE], etc.
