Could it be added, possibly up to 8 different team colors?
Team FFA games arent so fun to watch with just 2 team colors.
Also could it be possible to not "highlight" the selected player? it changes that selected player to different color now...

Have you watched 4v4v4v4 games? you see selected team with blue and all other 3 teams red color.
Its better when you see each team with own color, so you can actually see where is each team frontline etc and see how big they really are.

Turn off simplified minimap colors and you won't have that problem. Seriously dude, this feature has been around since 4+ years ago...

What is wrong with you people, read better!
I agree with Trademark this would be a good feature. To be more general, allow the changing of map and minimap colors in game using lua widgets. Then we can make our widgets do whatever we want.

Spring.SetTeamColor
This is unsynced and thus widgetable. No guarantees on behavior though. No, I'm not going to write it.

I got awesome idea, what about putting this /minimap simplecolors function in the minimap buttons? would be 5th button under the minimap then. I use it a lot in team games, but also sometimes i switch it off, and then on again XD
Would be more user friendly, since there are a lot of hidden commands, and this is somewhat basic thing which would help playing... or speccing :P

You're doing it again Trademark.
IceUI has this command built in. It's widgetable.

Thanks. Is it new? Does it apply to both main and mini map?

It's been around for a while. I don't know the exact behavior though.
