What is your experience in? If modeling and texturing, boy have I got a job for you :-)

Best thing you can do to help out new mods is play them frequently and get as many other people to play them too. Get your friends who don't play Spring, on Spring.

The best thing for Mods atm is a nice chunky player base for support.

Or model and texture to replace OTA units, or learn C++ and join the SpringLobby team. Those are both things we really need. :P

Metalstorm is in the early stages. It has a valid storyline and gameplay concept but little else other than some models. It's designed for high-level strategic management rather than the micro which is standard for RTS. Requires, modellers, mappers and lua coders. PM me for details.

Us at the Libre project haven't been up to much recently, but we certainly still have some people happy to move things along. I must admit we are at a very early stage though, but if you feel like influencing the design, that might make it more interesting for you!
EvoRTS is certainly worth having a look at as well though, and SpliFF's mod had me interested :P. If memory does not fail me, both are also open source, as is Libre. Not that I'm trying to point you elsewhere!
