Need modeler for Evolution RTS

Because my modeling sucks. I keep seeing all this amazing talent popping up remaking TA units (or reimagining them)
And really need help, so... halp?
Edit: Perhaps even something as simple as a model here or a model there?

Maybe. Thats about as committal as it gets right now (at least until I find a job to replace the one I'm losing in 2 weeks)

I will make some for you for sure! I played Evo recently, and I was enthralled by it's various features, consistent art style, and cool gimmicks, but was disappointed by the model quality (the models are fine, but they aren't up to the gameplay and effects

), and decided that I absolutely
have to make you some models.
However, a couple things to keep in mind:
- My first spring-related priority and commitment at this time is CA, and as such, I won't be able to crank out models for you until I finish my current one or two CA models in limbo
- My modeling skill and speed is severely hampered by my lack of skill in texturing. However, if you or someone else can texture the models I make, or better yet, help me improve my texturing skills, I estimate that I'll be able to make and finish models twice as fast!

- I'm on hiatus until April 5th, don't expect anything until then.
I hope I didn't sound arrogant or sour, I'm really glad that I can help!

Wow that's actually really nice of you to say all that, thanks

I'm glad you liked it. Tbh, I owe most of the better ideas to lurker and google_frog, who have been invaluable in shaping the gameplay (lurker in particular for quite literally making things possible for me with omgawesome luaz).
I understand that CA is a commitment for most of the modelers here, and tbh I'm happy to see that CA is getting that part of things done at a pretty nice pace, I bear no grudge for CA. Easier atm to find a game of CA than a game of Evo, so who would want to wait around for 5 years to have someone to play with when you can join that CA game over there and be ingame in less than 3 minutes?
Believe me, I understand and to me it's no big deal
You and I both share the lack of ability in texturing, tbh. My textures are just random patterns slapped on, and they look fairly okish from a distance, but once you get close it just isn't pretty.
THe big problem I'm running into (and I expected to hit this sooner or later) is that people have trouble taking the game serious simply because of the unit models and textures. SO now that the gameplay is all worked out and only requires small tweaks here and there, it's time to move to the biggest animal of all, which is getting all the models done.
As I said before, I appreciate greatly any and all help that I can be given on this. To me it's a monumental taks and unfortunately I jsut don't have the talent to do it myself :-/

Set up an explorer unitguide (don't have time to do terra just yet) and there are buildpics in there (if you kinda needed an idea of what some of the particular units look like. I did some counting and the total amount of units to be redone is right around 90. So not an impossibly high number, but I will admit that it is a fairly lofty number nonetheless.
I understand ironized, is okies

i think 5 or 6 mod have arm & core and only BA is played : maybe a new design can atract players ?
for testing evo : its seems yur sfx emit lot of 2d : that very laggy with 10 or 20 unit in screen..

Yes they do use a lot of explosion effects, however most of it is faked. For example all those little dots you see on some explosions? Those aren't individual images, it's just one large image with a bunch of dots on it.
You are the only one that has had an issue with evo lagging. You need decent hardware and a decent video card to run the game, but even with a 7600gt I was still getting 60 fps constant. Now I have a 9600gt and average about 70-90 fps.

i tested evry release of evry mod with my hardware :
yu are the far worst lagger mod beetween all

Lol, you should try CA. They use more LUA and shader effects than evo.

seems ca have no lag and models are already done :
but im sure those making evo dont want make a second time that ca have already done ...
so what evo want if not arm & core ?
or yu made new or play with existing but without any morale consideration its sad do remake same existing thing again :
for exemple :
think about how many german soldier with mp40 and usa soldier with m16 was codded and modelized since ten years ...
its crazy...
same if someone want reinvent the writing without going to school ...
same as a mmmorpg persistent where thousand of useless items are build and abandonned for raise the level of the char

Why is it that you think that evo is a remake of ta? It isn't! Yes there are similarities, but in many cases that was me being humorous. For example the terra medium tank's name is "Blink" and it fires an emglike weapon.
Or the fatso, which is obviously a reference to the sumo. These are jokes dude.

Here is some mechs that Bumblebee has done for evo. I think they look omgwtfsweet. If you don't agree, meh well, keep walkin but they are far better than what I can do and are right along the lines of the quality of what I was looking for. Kaiserj has also been working on aircraft for the explorer side and is doing some really freaking amazing work.

AWESOME JOB!
I also recently learned that Kaiser uses a vector editor (specifically, Fireworks) to do his textures, and says that it makes the process much easier and faster, although less detailed at times.
