{RESOLVED] Why must you log me out, kubuntu :(

I just installed kubuntu 8.10 64bit on a laptop with nvidia 9600 gt and core 2 duo 2.4 ghz 4 gigs ddr2 ram etc. etc. When I load spring, everything is just dandy and nice, exept for the undeniably unbearable fact that once I get ingame, and the ingame countdown stops, I get one of 2 things. Sometimes, I get automagically logged out of spring. Other times I get an entirely unacceptable desktop with a mouse cursor in the middle which I cannot move and no spring, and is about 100 times too small for my hi res display. I have no idea what to do, but if anyone has any ideas, please post in this thread.
Oh also, i checked the infolog and there are no errors. In fact, ill post it here:

Easiest way to prevent Spring from locking out your desktop when it crashes is to run it in a window instead of fullscreen.

When it crashes, you can save your PC with Magic Sysrequest.

Thank you nemoder, very wise advice.
This issue is resolved. Compiz Fusion and Spring don't seem to mix particularly well. Too bad I cant write in fire on my pewees.

Yeah i tried having desktop effects on with spring, it kept making spring go to windowed mode and fuck it up, rather annoying, but it will be improved on in ubuntu as time goes on i have no doubt.

i like kde4 so i am using kubuntu. Some stuff isnt so compatible like awn and compiz etc. Kwin is a nice fast compositing wm, though, and spring runs fine with it.
