Whenever I download, it goes into my "download" area. When i click on it to open it, it just gives me the readme file. I cant run it!! Is this because:

1) I am on a mack, and Spring isn't compatible, or
2) I am a complete idiot when it comes to Mac's, and i have know idea what I'm doing. Thanks for any help!!

Did you try this http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Spring_on_MacOSX
... Essentially, Spring may not work on mac at all, if you downloaded the installer executable it definitely won't work on a mac because it's Windows software. You're best bet for playing spring on a Mac is to install Linux or Windows on it... unfortunately.

That was the single weirdest comment i have ever read about Apple ever. It deserves to be quoted to share the idiocy with the rest of the world.

Edit: I can't believe i failed at typing "idiocy".

spring can theoretically run on mac os x, the problem is that neither windows nor linux binaries are compatible, you'll have to build yourself one, if you feel like trying, contact the developers in the irc channel #sy@quakenet, but don't espect it to be a "click and run" task
