.. is fugly, is there a way to remove it, or can it be added as an option please?

You might want to try an old version of TASClient, or maybe Springlobby.

Like the idea and function of it and kudos to Forb for posting content for it but I don't like its look. Maybe make it a little more discrete, plain and optional.

I have absolutely no control over how the "ad bar" looks (it's client side, not server side, all tasclient does with that bar is link to the rss feed from springinfo). That's alllll satirik (btw it's really easy to change how it looks.
