Why would people disable LuaUI?

Do you have LuaUI turned off? (Run springsettings.exe and check the first tick box in "UI options" tab)
If so, why?
If you have it on but can think of a reason to turn it off, what would it be?
I need to know the proportion of people that have it off. I'd make a poll but that appears to be disabled in GD.
I need to know all the reasons why someone would disable LuaUI.

there are 2 reasons:
1) performance
2) GML compatibility (guess that's just a special case of performance).

I sometimes have it disabled for performance reasons; it used to allow me to play CA but not anymore

I pretty much always have it enabled now though

That and because it lags. Performance > Graphics.

You could just disable the lua that's causing lag.

as google said
and LUA has never lagged me even on shitty comps and any laggy lua widget ill disable
i find the lua disabled button a bit redundant some mods need LUA to be played. And all mods use LUA in someway nowadays anyway.

And to know which do that THERE is the profiler widget made for it! Hmm profiler could also add a disable/enable buttons near widgets!

I disable it because I have a crap computer. I know it puts me at a disadvantage because there are a lot of very useful widgets / features (particularly Retreat with CA and Custom Formations, ETA is also very good, though not terribly necessary).
One thing I have noticed is that the Voices widget with CA is responsible for killing my computer, so in smaller games I will enable LuaGUI and just disable all but the widgets I use.
Games like this one (I'm in upper left in green) are pretty much slideshows on my computer, LuaGUI just makes it even worse:

I remember getting in a argument with Trepan when I replaced the eye widget by one with enabled defaulted to false in an early KP installer.

Ok. Can you tell me what were your motivations?
K.P. is starting to rely more and more on LuaUI. Might soon be unplayable without it. But I don't want K.P. to get broken whenever someone go untick a setting, so I'm concerned about that and need to decide what to do about it. There are several possible approaches: Force LuaUI on, change widgets into gadgets, write huge bold red disclaimers, don't make anything entirely dependent on LuaUI, optimise the code so it runs faster, simplify and reduce the perceived widget mess, engage in pro-LuaUI propaganda, consider anyone turning off LuaUI is grown up enough to handle the consequence of his choice, pretend there is no problem, ...
But if I don't understand the reason why some people turn it off, I might choose a wrong way to deal with the LuaUI off situation.
So far the reason I had was:
1) Eat too much CPU
2) Broken Lua spam put me off
3) There are unecessary widgets

Compatibility with the multithreading Spring build.

Actually LuaUI works but you have to choose your widgets carefully as some will cause crash or application hang.

Are you sure:
3)
There are unecessary widgets
4) i didnt need
any of them.
there are != they are
"they are" means they
all are.
"there are" means
some are.
As far as i know...
