New lobby crashes

The new lobby crashes whenever you join a game, host a game, chat(this fixed for a while), or download anything. It is also gay, confusing and all in all, the old lobby did the same thing except it was simple and it worked. PLEASE BRING BACK OLD LOBBY! I cant even play until you do.

You can turn off the torrent system in springlobby and keep using Spring Downloader then, which is not part of tasclient.

That still doesnt help the part where I CANT PLAY! What am I supposed to do until its fixed?

1. Delete TASClient.exe (springlobby) and rename TASClient.exe.old to TASClient.exe
2. Make sure "Options -> Program tab -> Auto update to current beta" is unchecked
3. When you connect to the lobby, click "no" when it asks if you want to update to current beta.

Apparently, that's SpringLobby trying to cache minimaps and run torrenting.

Rollback instructions:
1. Delete TASClient.exe (springlobby) and rename TASClient.exe.old to TASClient.exe
2. Make sure "Options -> Program tab -> Auto update to current beta" is unchecked
3. When you connect to the lobby, click "no" when it asks if you want to update to current beta.

Seriously people, stop making topics.


Also, the bug in springlobby is already fixed, and it stops crashing anyway when it finishes.

Just sticky a thread across all forums with information about the switch and rollback instructions for people who get SpringLobby crashing. Then link the thread in the topic in #main #newbies #springlobby

People, will TASClient development be freezed forever soon (or already)? After update TASClient becomes SpringLobby.

After doing this Tasclinet instantly crashes when entering the battle room. During the loading, it reloads every map slowly like it had lost all sense of memory and storage comprehension. Everytime at loadup it ask if it should work on the minimaps as well.

Error: Single Player skin file 'lobby\SpThemes\Default.ssk' not found. Even after i clearly searched for it

its clearly in the spring folders as well.

I had the same thing happen, but it seems to work for me. I'm not sure why those files are missing though.

The sudden switch to SpringLobby was a little heavy-handed, I agree, but moving over to it was kinda necessary - Having the same lobby on all platforms (the other lobby is windows-only) is important.

Still, would've been nicer if it had just been changed to be the "recommended" lobby in the installer for a while before making this jump.

Great. Got new lobby from Braindamage, cant see chat room, has all the errors from old new lobby, and I still cant play. So I did what Braindamage said and rename my old lobby and use it. Too bad when I did that, I cant sync with anyone, still crashes when I join a game, and I STILL CANT PLAY SPRING! Not to mention all the error messages I get. I didnt mean for this to be a place to discuss how the new lobby sucks. I meant for it to be a solution to my problem.

EDIT: Sorry for being such a bother, but I love spring, and having it taken away from me is quite upsetting, especially now that Im trying to make mods for it. PLEASE HELP!

Nope. Still bugs out. Says something about a sync error and closes. Also some errors on starting. By the way, I realized that the new lobby crashes whenever it trys to open a new window or when it trys to start Spring. It also doesnt detect A.I.s in Single player. I want to be clear that it crashes EVERY time these things happen.

Wait... Spring hasn't implemented a program to kick laggy players have they? I have satellite internet and Ive been unable to host other games because of it. If they have, get rid of it. Us laggy players are just as good as broadband players and I could prove it if I could play.
