I just wanted to say mine comes from a real sign. I have NO IDEA wtf the sign is trying to say.

Do/Don't drink the petrol?
Do/Don't shoot yourself in the head with the petrol nozzle?
Imolation station?
Our gas prices are too high?

The very fact someone felt such a sign was necessary makes me grieve for the human race.

I guess I chose it because pouring petrol over yourself is a good metaphor for posting on forums.

ah yes, an american/commonwealth hybrid

I think it's hybid because when I think of petrol prices I blame the Americans and their "gas guzzling" lifestyles :)

In Australia we also fill cars with actual gas (LPG) so it's probably good the term isn't in general use.

Anyway I can see lurker was making a bad joke about flaming on forums so all is forgiven.

PS. It's good to see that even off-topic threads can go off-topic. Weren't we talking about someone else once? Reg? Ronald? Rugrat? I can't remember!

PPS. If you really want to be anal about it the correct term is PETROLEUM, not petrol, butt-munchers!
