Spring RTS Engine

there's just not enough news, so I suggest adding a subforum in site content to allow people to post something they write, showing new content, or an update, a new map, ect.

Also like kaiser said adding a "news" tab to lobbys, so more people read it.

+1 much needed in one form or another.

There was already a community news function on the wiki which displays on the front page...nobody really used it so it wasn't reimplemented for the new site, apparently.

There's just not enough news, maybe there should be someone who's responsible for that?

i think anything more than twitter is pushing it in this community. and even that will be hard. unfortunately.

idea: make a bot that scans the forum for [ANN]-titled posts and automagically put it in some rss feed. mods could edit the subject and split topics so proper threads (= bot food) would get created.

melbot has 95% of the work done btw, with its #news reporting.

we used to have to ability to post news on a little corner on the site and it was pointless because no one read it.

I mean usefull stuffm, there's enough of that, also, with springinfo.info that's ok too, only real problem is to make the people on the lobby hear about it.

If it was front-page in the lobby and appeared in the topic of #main or something, i damned well think people would see it there.

People dont read the #main motd anyway.
