how about it? It sure worked in making console games terrifyingly addictive. Mod specific acheivements, like kill 20 mex with one jeffy, win/lose ratios, gametime acheivements, building x number of x unit, reaching certain economy income, acheiving certain dam dealt/dam received ratio, sharing x amount of metal.. the possibilities are endless, and all of them encourage people to play the game better

as to reward, could even link it up with the rank icons

nah, just encourages people to ignore playing in order to micro a jeffy for 15 minutes, or to build x amount of x unit.

personal stats like this are pretty interesting though. maybe it could just keep track of your personal maximums of stuff like this? ie, most mex killed with a jeffy, not just "YEP YOU KILLED MORE THAN 20"

doesnt have to network up to some high score board, people could just post screenies if they wanted to show off e-penis

Not really. The most damage is likely to be done by a player who econs for the first 20 minutes while their allies barely hold the line. Then they roll over the enemy with their massive tank army getting the credit for all the damage done to the opponents defence and base. If they had helped earlier the game would not have been almost lost.

That's the most damage award which does usually go to the best player because noone is trying to get it, if they did they would play badly. The other awards involve either not attacking even though you've won so you can attack with the units that give you awards or intentionally focusing on a narrow easily counter-able strat from the start.

A 'Hold the line' achievement:

Build an array of defenses and don't lose more than 4 in 15 minutes (But they need to get attacked atleast twice to activate the chance for Hold The Line).

When you get the archivement the song "Hold the line" from toto should play to inform you of winning the archivement.
