Hijacking mods should be punished to prevent confusion in the community. I'm referring to bullshit like http://spring.jobjol.nl/show_file.php?id=1641

I'm pretty sure that's the same user who uploaded the BA6.51 which was just a renamed supreme annihilation, I wonder if the admin of Jobjol can give the IP to a forum moderator here to find which user it was (I'm guessing gota... :p )

would this apply to ripping chickens from ca then?

it could be made more obvious which versions were fake if jobjol displayed an upload history for mods - so as you could clearly see that the file your looking at was the successor of the previous verseion, uploaded by the same user, etc etc.

all that relies on is mod devs keeping their passwords secret.

i don't get why people hijack mods. get a life.

and no it wouldnt apply to the chickens versions - they are different mods to their parent mods and have different authors. from what i know theyre developed seperately.

BA Chickens credits CA and was used with permission and doesn't claim to be CA.. grow up and get over it.

+1, it's also very lame to have to paw through a bazillion uploads of CA versions, ancient and crusty, just to review what's there.

They do have an upgrade version feature but when I tried it with BA chicken defense it gave me a bunch of errors and didn't replace the mod - not sure if it's working now.

The problem with the mod in the OP is that it credits NOIZE as the author and jobjol has supported this, the authour should have to approve these requests.

So, basically... besides moral dudgeon at whatever llama decided to do this... the issue needs to be taken up with jobjol.

This isnt the first time someone did this. Someone uploaded an early version of SA as BA 6.51 a few weeks back. We should ask jobjol for the ips of the uploaders.

Yeah i'm calling it as BasiC/gota

- He's one of the few people shameless enough to do this
- The same user 'NE' previously uploaded Supreme Annihilation renamed as BA6.51, his mod
- The changes he's suggested in NOIZE's thread have been implemented (among others)
- He's been on the forums and hasn't posted something dumb in this thread yet, which is pretty out of character.

This. We can't really do anything about jobjol without his/their cooperation.

The person who did this must be severely punished.
Even though i think all these changes are excellent and have been long overdue.
