Getting icon distance setting

Any way to do it? Skipped over the wiki API and the changelog and nothing leapt out at me.
Players often dislike how small the infantry are in S44, some find it easier to play with a smaller icondistance than usual, but setting it by command in game without being able to reset it back to what the user selected in their settings is likely to upset people
