Black screen on Spring Main Menu

Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Serice Packs: SP2
Graphics Card: NVidia Geforce4 MX Integrated GPU
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.08 Ghz
RAM: 512MB

Whenever I load Springs, I immediately get a black screen with some boxes on it. One of the boxes is read, and if I hit up or down on the arrow keys, it moves the boxes. I'm assuming this is the main menu, but there's no text or background. Here's a screenshot:

If I hit enter 3 times, it brings me to another black page, which I assume is some sort of configuration page:

I tried setting everything in the game as low as possible, and I tried the hotfix on this subforum. I also searched the forums for "black screen", but no one else has been successful in solving this problem.

I'm a long time fan of TA, and would love to play this game ;[ Help?

EDIT: I managed to get a game of XTA going by mashing random buttons, and it works fine in game. I tried to join a game using Balanced Annihilation and it flipped out on me, though, giving me similar black screen errors.

EDIT2: Just launched XTA through the TASClient, and it doesn't work.

Argh D:

Well the second shot is ingame, and should have a map, not black space. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that since you have a VERY old integrated graphics chipset, that there aren't any updated drivers that allow your card to handle spring. I don't think with that card it would be playable anyways.

In short, buy a new computer. Spring is a lot more demanding than TA.

The drivers I downloaded were from NVidia.com. Just for the hell of it, I downloaded the driver from Windows Update... and now it works.

Weird as hell, but I'm not complaining ^^ Topic can be closed now, thanks for all the help!
