Making a manual

So, does anybody think that a manuala would help newcomers to the game and get them up-to-date on what to do and how to do it, so that old TA fans and anybody reading PCGamer can seemlessly use the game without sounding like a total newb in their first 7-8 games or so? They'll know how important it is to get the maps, know where to get the OTA patch and know about the messageboard and the extensive community, know about camera controls, key commands, darn near everything I can think of in one page that has links from a TOC.

That al exsist in the wiki, but it's spread out... I could maybe make a qwick ''uber newbie'' guide and add it to the ''SPRING GUIDE!''...

.
.. I agree ...
A printable version made using Adobe would be nice. I
figure a Adobe file with all that cool info will help no players
fugure things out quicker. Add some nice pictures and stuff
like that and you have a nice manual ....

Good idea. I´ve started slaughtering newbs 2 vs. 1 on Small Divide because 1 vs. 1 is too fast. We need to help them get a clue. Let´s include an xta strategy guide in the readme. Or maybe some tips that display in game the first time you run it, like "press f4 to see metal" and "build some kind of factory so you can make units"

I think a quick-start guide would be more helpful than forcing units to trawl through a massive manual. Just something explaining how to get started in multiplayer, what all the keys are, the basic units, a basic description of the popular mods, etc.

Despite the lack of support, I still believe
an automatic tips dispenser ingame like I wrote about in that old thread would be the best way to help newcomers.

Hi
I'm new so I'll check out the manuel and let you know. I hope it will help because I was just beat to death on the net by a good player, well the script "IA" does that pretty well too! Ah well let's do some reading...
