My Friend and I can't connect into a game properly

Hi,
My friend had me download spring awhile back. We tried playing it, but it never actually let us into a actual game.
We're playing BA, and when we start the game it just sits on trying connect to the server. I'm able to connect to games no problem, so I believe he is having the issue. What is odd he played with someone else a few weeks earlier with no issues what so ever. So I don't know what is up with it.
As far as I know he has the latest version, and I do. So I don't think we have a issue there. I'm just confused as to what is going on.
I tried getting him on here a couple times to figure it out, but he is to lazy to even try. So I'm trying to figure this out. Any ideas as to what the issue is?
