Are you on vista? That error is probably because SpringDownloader isn't asking for elevated permissions because it's out of date because it couldn't update because it couldn't run because it isn't asking for elevated permissions because it's out of date because it couldn't update because it couldn't run because it isn't asking for elevated permissions because it's out of date because it couldn't update because it couldn't run because it isn't asking for elevated permissions because it's out of date because it couldn't update because it couldn't run because it isn't asking for elevated permissions because it's out of date because it couldn't update because it couldn't run because it isn't asking for elevated permissions because it's out of date because it couldn't update because it couldn't run because it isn't asking for elevated permissions.

Run as administrator and it will update.

Also make sure springdownloaderconfig.xml points to correct spring folder.

Can I get a proxy option? My uni blocks access to trackers.

It should still work using web downloads (enabled by default).

Never worked for me. A proxy option would solve all of my problems.

Solution for all games that rely on downloads and modification...

Don't install in program files.

What does that have to do with anything.

It has to do with permissions, only admins gets write permissions in Program Files, so say if you make your own dedicated directory for games, this wouldn't be a problem.

Problem is probably elsewhere, its not using any torrents for 90% of downloads..
Does it say you are connected to central server or disconnected?

What exactrly is blocked on your network.

Clarification for revenge: This has nothing to do with anything.

We are talking about lack of admin rights or for that matter any useful rights at all regarding connections, and requesting a NETWORK-RELATED feature that has to do with INTERNET TUBES and not SHITTY WINDOWS ACCOUNT SECURITY STUFFS.

BTW i figured out how to install supcom on a computer including directx without admin priveleges. Wewt for me.

Anyway proxy support please is all im saying.

Do you mean that this dude's error log is reflective of this problem?

Licho, the log just says starting torrent download, it never seems to use online mirrors.

Do you have mirrors enabled? Does it say connected to central server and list maps for download when you click download button?

It uses ordinary HTTP download to get data from mirrors - so unless your uni blocks your web access too, it should work.

I've never seen it use mirror downloads. The option is enabled, but every time I start a download it just says torrent failed, there is no attempt to use mirrors.

If it uses the word failed, then it may have been unable to get the actual .torrent file.

The fuck, so it needs to get the torrent file before it even attempts to get the map file from mirrors?

I'd be screwed then, in that case, since my uni also blocks downloading torrent files, in addition to blocking traffic to trackers.

i bet they won't block torrents over https. need a tracker and a torrent repo though.
