Spring RTS Engine

This is how it happens:

Select commander
press shift
make multiple build orders
wait a little...
release shift

Then the GUI disappears. I cant see the cursor, but i can still select units... when i select the commander again and press shift - as long as i press be button and the commander is selected the gui is visible. when i release shift the gui disappears again.

Its not always possible to press shift. this time the gui was gone... for good

this happens to me on windows xp sp3 - ati x1400 mobile ists a thinkpad t60 laptop

Are you using the latest version of Spring? What you describe was a problem with newer ATI drivers in Spring 0.76. That problem was solved though and shouldn't appear anymore in the new 0.77 release...

Apart from that the GUI should come back when you give a build order or two...

spring should upgrade itselft, right? i just installed it and im able to play online - more or less.

i will just wait then for the next version?!

EDIT: i just checked i am using version 0.77b5
EDIT: the drivers installed are the latest-official-lenovo-ati-drivers. (and yes that sucks)

i will try some other drivers. i cant install the latest official-ati-drivers (its beeing blocked by the installer) - so i guess there are the mods like omega or warcat... wil try those..

its a problem of ur gpu, try to find a correct working gpu-driver, i had to downgrade to let spring work good

I got this problem in 77b5 as well. I am using a radeon 1950xt with the Omega 8.4.422 drivers on Win2k (the latest Catalyst drivers for win2k). I can't upgrade the drivers and a downgrade might break other games so does anyone know if another workaround exists?

Keep in mind that everything worked under 0.76 so this is something new. I've tried disabling LuaShaders, turning off decals, turning off grass, using only reflective water and running windowed. All other settings are default.
