So, how exactly do these map packs work?
Is there plan to update the map packs? Or is it worth it to basically just grab the maps I expect to use and store them.
And where are they stored?
I'm working on a script that will install all my apps after a re-format. I could house my maps/mods on an external, or I could just re-install the map packs each time.

The map packs just install a bunch of maps into /usr/share/spring/maps -- the lobby should treat them as installed maps for all users.
The packs won't be updated much themselves, however new packs might be added.
Maps you, as a user, download should just be installed with the spring installer (double click them). This puts them into your home folder -- don't manually copy files into the /usr/share folder, as that's for packages to mess with only.

They're not there..
The directory "/usr/share/spring" doesn't exist on my computer.
(I had thought I had checked there...)
