GUI Deresolutionised?

I'll explain this quite simply.

This is old me.
This is new me.

Fix me.

Looking at it, all I see is that whatever you're playing lacks a proper reference to frame_slate_128x96.png. Which is a bit odd, since that's in base, and is referred to by LuaUI.

Since that's probably not worth this level of anger... what's the problem? The rest of it looks right to me.

Apart from not being able to navigate the menus due to no menu page arrows, everything is a bit bigger, the menu commands are transparent which could get annoying and I can't access the widgets menu and all the widgets happen to be disabled ¬_¬

1. The page arrows are the same problem- lack of proper references to those files in base. That's a mod fix, basically, and given that a new version of BA will need to get made anyhow to address the major bugs in it, you're just going to have to wait.

2. Everything is probably a bit bigger because it's all adjusting relative to screen resolution now, instead of a static resolution. I think that's a change since 0.76b, but I don't really remember, to be perfectly honest.

3. The widget menu issue may require that you rebind F11.

type /luaui reload. if it doesn't work and spits errors, reinstall into a clean directory.

Already tried installing into a clean directory and just tried "/luaui reload".
Neither worked.

just edit the ctrlpanel.txt and layout.lua if you want the textures back, and be sure it's not a layout from the mod, mods can overwrite your control panel

Ok so I fixed the menu issue. Also managed to get widgets up and disabled every widget and still having same issue.

Reseting the Spring Settings to default gives same problem.

It seems to be happening with every mod I play and a complete fresh install on a clean empty folder is giving same issue so I'm thinking it could be my graphics card drivers so I'm about to try rolling back a few drivers to see if issue still continues.

in the layout.lua can you disable the textures ? by replacing the if(false) by if(true) ?

Sorry but Windows' Find feature is showing any "if(true" or "if(false)" so I wouldn't know where to look in the .txt as it's all another language to me.

does a completely clean install does the same thing? with no custom widgets and stuff? i think this is a problem with some of your Lua, I've seen it happen when
- luaui.lua doesn't get overwritten during upgrade install
- LuaUI directory is copied from 76b1 (do not do this!)
- there's some leftover from 76b1 in LuaUI - best to move a completely fresh LuaUI from a clean install

When I reinstalled before, the LuaUI directory was in it's original state, freshly installed with no custom widgets.
Nothing new.

Is uncompressed images at 2 MB really needed? :/

Anyway, try doing both these ingame:
/ctrlpanel /luaui/ctrlpanel.txt
/ctrlpanel ctrlpanel.txt

Just tried both of those and neither do anything. It seems my Spring has also just completely become unresponsive to commands including others such as .cheat and /luaui reload.

Now I'm getting other funny bugs and glitches: http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r51/ ... Screen.jpg

Also just discovered some weird Virtual Store thing on Vista which has a load of hidden folders and shit all in the Spring directory...

Seems everything is fixed now apart from just the GUI itself just being a bit out of res. Basically the game plays as before now apart from this issue which is just sort of a pain in the ass.
IceUI also won't work now for some weird reason.

Heres some bigger screens:

Old me
New Me

I can't really understand what your problem actually IS. Nothing there seems "out of res" or whatever to me.

Flick between the old screen and new screen. There is little difference and is playable but it just doesn't allow me to use Widget GUIs as the bars etc are slightly out of place.

Could be gfx card but I wouldn't know why it would suddenly give this issue out of the blue.

Uh? Are you talking about the different font sizes? That's because of large changes to the font system, get used to it.

All the text looks stretched and a lot worse than before, surely it can't be right.

That's just how it is, for now at least.
