It works with .cheat enabled.. Host types ".cheat", spec specs the dead player and types ".take"..

As soon as the host enables cheating the game is usually over though..

player leave, game automaticly goes to pause, and command go on screen for host : Playez leave for team or spec :D

As far as I know the current command makes the spec to own the team but he is unable to move anything. Not sure tough...

If this comes to be we will probally need a fuction to be a "team spectatorr", that is, one spec that only sees one team so its not cheatfull for him to occup a spot there.

CA already has this, but unfortuantly that is just a fake side, so it has to obey player number limits and stuff like that.

The issue is that a spec has knowledge of the entire map before he would join a team and this gives him an unfair advantage.

I was working on something in CA to solve this problem. Players who want to spec can start on a team as a backup player with no units. These players also cannot receive units. I have some code that checks if a player on a team has dropped and if so, one of the backup players can take his place with .take (or receive shared units). Since they were part of a team, they have no knowledge of the enemy teams and it's completely fair.

Unfortunately there are a few obstacles that I have not overcome yet.

Bah, I mean the easiest way would just be to write a gadget that does .cheat.team.whatever really fast at the beginning of the game automatically for dropped players. It should just ask whether specs want to take, and the first spec that .takes will gain control. Then, it's turned off the rest of the game. Shouldn't be abusable right?

it so on the good way, yes the spec see all the map, but i think its better to have a real player than another take a base and be submerged by 2 front war ... :)
