Spring RTS Engine

I finished downloading the core files for the game but for sum reason it still doesn't work, could someone please help me out? I would REALLY like to play this game! I showed my older brother the game aswell and he is having the same problems. Could some one give me instructions on what to download? and were useing windows, just incase you needed to know that.

On this page top right click dowload.

install.

click tasclient.exe.

register

log in

spam #main

After installing, get some games (if you already haven't done so) from here:

You might need this, to play TA-related mods:

Place it in 'C:\Program Files\Spring\base', assuming you didn't change anything when installing.

If you're looking to play something like TA, get either CA or BA, as those are the most played right now.

Although you might be here to play something similar to TA, I recommend checking out the other games.

After all that crap, start up TASClient, go to Options, click Account and register. Login and you should see some rooms in the bottom.

Meh just download my manual and follow the instructions. Quick and easy :)

The reason why Spring fails.

You ask something to experinced players who think they know everything about spring, and you end up with the reply, "go look at the manual you nub"

Main reason why we have such a small dev community and fourm users.

Spawn, I think dragon has a stronger troll-fu. You missed the heyday of the smugs.

I think the reason the "experienced" players are saying read the manual you noob is because they have explained things over and over. They get tired of explaining things over and over. Those experienced players should write some guides in the wiki so the noobs can read them. Of course I am not talking about play guides because if someone of day/randy's level posted a guide you would probably see >9000 people regurgitating that same strat and crying when one of the *As breaks their supposedly awesome strat.

lastly, everyones a noob at one point, if you want people to stay, your going to have to learn that even if you've replied over 9000 to one question, someone new won't always use the search engine, or the wiki page to find this question, and its your duty to answer it, and then guide them. Because players are looking for active, helpfull games, and not grumpy old players.

Replace duty with kind gesture and realize that no one has to answer at all. Player are not always looking for helpful games. Many of them just want to try things out for a while and not get bossed around. Others think they know what they are doing a get defensive when told how to play.

you cannot expect the experienced players to be immune to annoyance. People do not have infinite patience, they only want to help so much and it shouldn't be expected that they do. We had a lengthy discussion a few months ago about noob players and their lack of ability to listen. It is a moment's kindness, not a duty required of all spring players.
