FPS camera

Is an fps like camera possible in a good way? I'd be cool to make a point in upspring called "camera" and that the fps camera goes there. also, strafing, is it possible?

Now if only we could get it so that the model isn't hidden when you FPS it, so that you can stick it in some awesome spot on a vehicle/tank in a good spot so that you actually get a sense of the vehicle you're in.
(or stick it behind for some 3rd Person action...

Eh, I think FPS is likely to always be somewhat of a gimmick. I'd like to see better gunship code and IK animation well before I give a stuff about FPS mode.
Though I would be interested in finding out why some of my aircraft bounce around the screen instead of flying while FPS'd...
