new map: Archilangelo

Here's my 1st attempt on an archi-type map....as you can see, i have some issues with heightmapping the isles/shores.....after way too many hours of fiddling i got tired of it and got it to where it is now.....if someone would like to volunteer to improve the map let me know.... 12 x 12 map, good tides, 9-23 windspeed. 8 startpositions, best suitable for N vs S teamplay.

Why did you decide to go for the completely land-locked map?

Most archipelago type maps are island hopping maps, but this one seems like it would be quite ground-forces based.

(not to say that the decision is bad, just wondering what made you decide to go for that gameplay route)

It means sort of tropical sandy beaches with palms and bare rock which is typicaly dark brown... Think a nuclear test site...

i think there is a guy with moustache at the center rigth (minimap) ... O_O

as painting its not bad!

the ground is very soft (as sand), and water level near sourface, so, its not hard to generate a flood area. that sux when happens in your geo vent. or metal patchs.

quite a lot of metal.

a big ship can rule all the ground sorrounding the lake.
but a cannon can rule a good bunch of the lake too.

its almost done, just a bit more work on the heightmap, a bit.
almost all isles can be boarded by amphibious tanks and kbots.
hover units have less trouble passing from land to sea.
funny, there is a piece of ground that is a round mini mount at top left lake..

just a final note... i was cheating and changed teams like 3 times... but it crashed at the end... is it possible for a map to crash spring?
Just tried this map one time!! and was solo.
pd: you cant build dt around a sentinel! (ctrl+alt) spring bug.

Archipelago maps are TA maps that takes place on the planet Thalassean, and use the tileset "Archipelago", and use the features/archi/ with a world=archipelago; tag.

Not to be confused with the water world maps of the planet Hydross..
