I saw it in Bambi too. If it didn't sound so silly, I'd say it was neat that they used it as the term for the birds falling in love and nesting, like love birds.
Because of their caring and affectionate, nature it is thought that lovebirds should be kept in pairs.
I used to want to to keep some of those as pets and teach them to greet people when they walked in the door even though lovebirds don't often talk a lot and aren't noisy.
