Video recording.

First of all, when recording a video of a replay of a game, the players get all out of sync whenever you stop/start recording, seeing as it is a replayed game, and the data is all there for what happens next, it seems like there should be some fairly easy way to correct this, maybe not.
Also, how do I get uncompressed frames to record correctly? I'm aware that they are huge.

Why not go back to the recording after the fact and record the video without the overhead of the network connection?

That's what I'm doing and experiancing a problem in. Perhaps I shoud have been more clear and less spastic in my initial post. Anyway, when I do video recording in a replay of a game, the "players" stop transmitting synced data, and all that is left running is unsynced stuff. Sync stuff just stops.

Well, he's right. I just tried to play back a simple demo and record a video and got a flood of "sync request for wrong frame"
Looks like starting the record process bogs the system down so much that what it's recording is vastly different from what the replay is actually doing. It doesn't slow the replay down to "sync" with the recorder. Once recording stops, the screen just JUMPS to the place in the replay and half the base just appears. So what was being recorded is out of sync with the replay which then throws all kinds of sync problems.

Any chance we can get this fixed? Or is such a fix straight out impossible/impractical. The reason I am so persistent is that I wish to create promotional video material/machinima using the Spring engine.
Which would also be the reason why I wish of F5 to hide health bars as well.

i want ` to hide health bars. although they are useful when reviewing/playing when i'm just enjoying a rep i want teh bars off!!!

Alt+0189 is a lot of keystrokes just for a silly tactical drawing. :/ Speaking of video recording; could we get the default bind of the v key moved in the next version, all of my friends that I've showed Spring to have accidently hit this key in the heat of battle, and didn't know what to do other than alt-control-delete, end task.
I'd say that's one of those features that does a great job of driving away new players, and should probably be moved to a keycombination, or only can be used when you add a command line modifier when running Spring.

Yes, I'm aware of that, and thought about stating such awareness, but I decided that putting the phrase "change the default bind", would suffice for indicating that I know it can be changed manually.
Most people do not want to get nitty gritty, they're used to their commerical games where they have a nice gui interface where they can change their controls, and can have their hand held, and given a little teddy bear.
Furthermore, in anticipation of arguements against this, I will state my personal opinion that I would rather answer a thousand, "HI HOW DO U RECORD VIEEDEEOS PLZZZ" threads than have a single game of Spring crap out on me because someone accidentally hit V.
