settings App completely kills/locks up my system.

I'm running Vista64 with an Intel C2D E8500, Geforce 8800GTX, Gigabyte P35-DS3 and 4GB RAM.
When I run settings, my system slows up, seems normal, but then nothing closes/opens (I can't kill processes from task manager or normally) and then eventually it locks up and I have to hard reset.
When this originally happened it messed up my RAID-1 array (causing it to report failed so meaning I am not running RAID now) and now my PC runs oddly (a different story).
What do I do

Uh, I think you have larger problems and I doubt they're actually related to the settings application at all.

Okay I've checked all my kit, fixed up my RAID stuff (not running raid, now) and reinstalled vista.
Pretty much the same issue.
Is there any way I can change my settings by editing a cfg or something?

I really don't see how springsettings could cause anything like this. It's all high level api stuff. I could get you a debug build of it that might help figuring out what's happening. A guess would be that Vista has somekind of problem with the 32bit binary/dll.
Are you running an account with admin priviliges? If not, try starting springsettings as admin. Could be that since it wants registry access it chokes on running as limited user.
This should have been caught by now tho. I find it much more likely that you're havin driver troubles that manifest when starting springsettings, wxWidgets rendering for example. Or generic wxWidgets failure on your box. Does Filezilla 3 (another wxWidgets app) work?
Also be sure to use the latest springsettings before any further tests:

Interesting, I reinstalled spring and all seems well. Maybe the binary got corrupted or something.

Binaries don't get corrupted into completely freezing your computer and screwing up your RAID array. You have larger problems, really.
