Spring RTS Engine

Hi!
My Spring on a Hardy Heron installation refuses to work!

I have an ATI X600 and fglrx installed:

fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600
OpenGL version string: 2.1.7659 Release

glxinfo | grep direct
direct rendering: Yes

But Spring wont start:

Could not set video mode:
X11 not configured for OpenGL

Can anyone help me out, what could be wrong?

Can you run glxgears?

runs perfectly

A fglrx recompile didnt fix it for me, either...

try running spring windowed instead of fullscreen or maybe try it at a different resolution

does not help

All other OpenGL Games dont work, too.

(Tuxracer for example)

yeah you're pretty much fucked if you have an ATI card

give it up the configuration headache is not worthit my ubuntu install didnt detect shit even after many days spent desperately fiddling with config scripts

get an nvidia gfx card or do something productive with your time and stop playing spring

no this is not a joke

What if he installed the Windows version under WINE? Might be (an unfortuante) workaround possibility.
