I found a fix for lag spikes on wireless..

thought it might help some people who are experiencing the same problem.

for xp go to

Control Panel

Administrative tools

Services

Wireless zero configuration

Right click wireless zero configuration and choose "stop"

You will have to do this every time you start the pc.

only if you're using manual wireless configuration or the utility by your card manufacturer

otherwise, you won't connect to the network

another fix is to use good wireless cards/routers and minimize interference

microwaves are especially good at completely killing a wireless connection
