I liked the movie Serenity but River Tam sucked ass. She is NOT good looking, she takes herself too serious and has greasy hair and seizures all the time. Also she cant fight for shit. Thats why the movie makers had to hide her sucky skills with messed up camera and lots of cuts.
A fighting scene goes like this:
- Close up of River Tam showing her angry face and her greasy hair.
- Cut. Sound of ass kicking in progress.
- Cut. Some dude holding his sack as if he just got it in the balls.
- Cut. River Tam posing for camera.

God I hate her

95% of that is just the result of trying to make an actor with no stunt training do stunts. I don't think you can really criticize a show that got cancelled for making budget choices.
