there are quite some topics about this, but i think i have an idea that might be different from the other ones, what about an addon downloadable when installing spring for playing music?
Maybe also make the org ta music downloadable in the installer?

OGG support was added to spring, so music is possible in there, somewhere.

Speaking of which, do any mods have a good demonstration of the music support I could filch? I'm tempted to rip the OTA music and package it with Hardcore Annihilation.

I saw it in with the files, there is OGG, I don't know how it can be accessed though, so to the best of my knowledge, no mod uses it.

Ask Argh about how to use OGG for music. Judging from his posts, that's how music is done in his PURE (probably only in the non-public beta though).

Music AI was a DLL, it did not use Lua. Argh has been working on a widget or something that does, and hopefully more OGG features are added to Lua because right now in 76b1 the only thing you can do is start and stop a song. No volume control, fading, pausing, tracking, etc. Though I think some SVN patches have helped this.
