xfire might be wonderful way to advertise Spring as other people could see you playing spring and then see your ingame screenshots
--> "omg that game looks cool i wanna try it"
everyone go spam to xfire forum into TA spring topic so they might actually take spring seriously

Been There, Done That, Got all we could get with the TA mods... might be worth trying again when one of the non-TA mods gets mature enough to stand on it's own...

One of the few nifty thing I noticed with Ubuntu at least, is a built in add/remove applications service for finding an adding programs etc.
Just wondering/what would it take to get Spring onto something like that?
OpenArena, a open source Quake-like FPS seems to be doing pretty well there, (All the ones above it are minsweeper like games) which got me wondering.

How about a Spring repo server that could supply synaptic users with the game, the content, and various tools and updaters? Sounds like instant win for linux users.

how about a cross platform 3D RTS engine? oh wait, there is already, it's spring!
really, the synaptic repo is the first thing you get listed when you click on the linux setup guide for debian/ubuntu, the linux forum section, or the download page (linux link) .....
also ubuntu != whole linux, not all users can get benefit from an apt repo ...

I would switch to Ubuntu for spring ANY day. I know my idea is rather, how do you say, extreme and somewhat narrowly targetted (sorry, my english is noot good), but if anyone with the required knowledge has time to spare, they could do a small service to the Spring and DEBIAN communities (which includes Ubuntu). Everyone knows that Open Source is simply Engrish for Linux.

Word of mouth is the best advertising for this project. Otherwise, people who really want Spring will be able to find it eventually, with the help of Google.

I amsorry but that is idiotic.
Basicly your saying that commercial games are wasting million on millons on marketing their games.
They should just release them and slowly wordofmouth will sell them.

Unlike commercial games we don't have multi million advertising budget.
However, if you have a multi million advertising budget for spring, you can donate it
