OK..OK.., but appears to me as below water.I saw a torpedo launched by a cruiser to the coast and its perfect!

Hey!The map also is cool! What u think about an Atlantis tileset with several sea levels?

Thanks Fjnordia!

hmmm whats all the fuss about? Anyways as far as I'm aware the camera cant go under the water plane. However I suggest that it be amde so ti can go anywhere above the terrain plane and if under water plane the screen should be tinted blue.

Making it go underwater wouldnt be that hard just change getheight to getheight2 in one line or something :)

Of course it wouldnt look good though.

Why not? I made the water level rise and fall periodically (like tides), and the camera was going underwater for brief periods of time, and I must say it didn't look bad at all.

tint screen blue for udnerwater and maybe even add bubbles and random effects etc, but that should be all.

¬_¬

I would like to see said code and experience it for myself. It would make for an interesting strategic system. A low area filling with water would allow your navy in to bombard a previously protected base, but at the risk of losing your naving to the retreting tides :D

Good stuff.

Unfortunately, Buggi, the water level change is only a visual effect, I was unable to get it to affect units or pathing. And yes, I was aiming for the effect you described.

well keep aiming and if you manage it add it as a map setting option and submit the changed code.
Perhaps a screenshot of the camera actually udnerwater as the tides rise would do us for now?

You need to somehow "trick" spring into thinking the heights are < 0 when moving your tides.

Moving the water plane is one thing... adjusting the heights temparally FOR the water level will allow units to think they can go to that spot.

Think of it as deforming the terrain on a grand scale and then restoring it again.

You can look underwater by selecting a submersible ( with the FPS camera) and hit T, this will lock the camera behind the submerine...It seems to work well with a Pirrannah in fairly deep water.

MORE BONES!

But i think an Underwater camera is essential for the "waterworld" maps that would come out soon. I mean, if you cant veiw the murky depths of the ociens, as your U-bots stalk teh hapless ARM frigats, then what would be the point of the map? Besideds haveing bouncing torpidos!
