Some maps show up green colored (Fix found now)

A few maps, including Supreme Battlefield v2, show up with a green hue in TA Spring. If I hit F5 to make the interface go away, it looks normal, but when I hit F5 again it goes back to green everywhere. This happens on some maps and not others.

If I remember correctly it's a bug with the start box lua script. At the start of the game, try turning the start box widget off and on again (use F11 to get the lua widget menu). If it persists in the game, try turning it off then.

Ok it worked for a few seconds, then I tried another map and same problem. All I can find is the minimap startbox on the f11 menu.

OK, I stopped playing spring because of this bug and now months later it's still there. Need instructions on possible ways to fix this.

Have you updated your graphics card drivers recently?

Do you run Linux or Windows? What graphics card do you have? Does this happen for all mods or only for same?

For me, running Linux on a laptop with an Intel 965 GPU, I run into the intresting situation that the map goes totally black after a number of seconds if I play the "wrong" Mod or version of Mod. Every *A mod like NOTA, BA etc suffers from this on my laptop and intresting enough, the latest P.U.R.E, RC3 suffers form it too whilst P.U.R.E 0.55 does not.

(Just praying that the upcoming release of Operation Polaris do work WITHOUT the ground getting black...)

I'm on XP Home 32-bit with a GeForce 7600GT clocked at 580Mhz running on 32-bit AMD 3000+ CPU. Gotten new drivers a few months back, I'm almost guaranteed newer ones if they exist won't help.

EDIT: On Oct. 15th they came out with a newer driver, but usually a few months difference isn't much difference. I'll check and see but not many hopes.

This glitch happens constantly on Small Supreme Battlefield V2 and a few other maps.

EDIT2: No dice. Installed latest drivers, rebooted, still green hue over maps. This is annoying as hell.

Wait a minute, isn't "F5" the hotkey to bring up the metal-map... which on maps with full metal would cause the entire map to be green... and pressing F5 turns it off? Is the map green from the start or does it turn green at some point in the game, when, for example, you choose to build a metal harvesting structure or something? Or maybe when you press F5 for the first time? I think the preference is preserved between games so it's entirely possible you've been turning it on some time shortly after every time you install.

Cripes, don't tell me this guy's been avoiding spring for over 6 month because of a misunderstood feature?

edit: sorry... F5 is UI. F4 is metal map

@tb87670:

If what you are describing is something like:

then try pressing F4, see if it helps

No, I think it's that startboxes bug, weird color disappears after readying up / game starts.

Stop using vid card drivers from nvidia, especially if you have the 7600GT. Get your drivers from http://guru3d.com.

Those are the exact same drivers....

Ok, after I hit F5 a few times then start the game it's ok, but if I don't hit F5 before starting the green stays during gameplay. Odd bug. So it's semi-fixed on my PC, I just gotta hit a F5 a few times each game on certain maps.

Would you mind listing some maps where you are required to hit F5 a few times as well as maps where you are NOT required to hit it?

Just curious if those maps you have issues with are the same ones I have problems with (when playing with certain mods, that is).

I'm not using 3rd party drivers. That's the end of that discussion.

I'm trying to post screens here but it won't let me up to this site. Srry.

So far on the new map packs that I got via installer only Small Supreme Battlefield V2 had it happen to me so far with the new version, and that's my favorite map which is why it happened so often to me. I tried a few other maps, there was one that was vertically long and was surrounded by lake with mountains in the middle you had to download on the map website, forgot the name but that one also gave me issues. I'm happy though because the game is working fine on all maps as long as I toggle F5 a few times.
