Spring RTS Engine

For some reason i try to test spring is says couldn't find mod files and i really want to play this game because it looks very interesting.

plz help

Rerun the installer, and this time get some maps and mods to play with. You only installed the spring engine itself and some support data.

To make it simpler: you just downloaded a steering wheel and gas pedal. Now you need to get a car. Fortunately there are many models to choose from, all of which are free.

PS: That wasn´t ment to insult new Players. It is just a real peace of work to get spring running - compared to comercial games. We should a a Lottery before you are allowed to enter the Lobby. And a Flamewarrior Chargenerator, you can roll real Dices...

I can't play spring either , man I suck!

I'm really wondering how I managed without a fancy setup guide...

ok, seriously, failing at installing spring, wow....

not even my mates can screw that up, and one of them said, and i quote

'look at that funny cooling thing' while pointing at 2 sticks of ram...

the installer is broken.

it tries to download maps and mods from unknown-files which is down. Upon failing to connect it silently moves on and finishes the install with no error messages.

Neither 'Test spring' nor tasclient run without any maps or mods installed and you have to manually download a map and mod before you can even connect to the lobby.

This wouldn't be such a problem if it was made obvious that you had to manually install these files but there is no mention anywhere of the problem.

I encountered this and gave up the first time. I tried again and persisted..
