If neddiedrow wasnt talking about me, then please could some mod remove their messages who acted non-civil and unlock the thread? I even asked that before the lock, but nobody did nothing about it.

This thread locking is getting silly, like we cant have free speech here, and what certainly pisses me off is when other people can lock threads by posting bullshit. -> then a mod notices it, he just locks it because there was bad messages. That is NOT good moderation.

Do you people seriously think its right to lock threads when other people have messed it up by posting bullshit in purpose to make it locked?

It all started when Licho started saying that people participating in conversations is spam, and that spamming CA messages randomly during all times of the day is not.

We don't really need a topic about another topic.

If the lobby clients (no not poking TASClient only ) had proper ways of ignoring parts of a message, like the nickname or message content, this would be much less of an issue. Someone write us up an IRC tunnel 10q.

On most forums I frequent, posting a "Why did my thread get locked?" thread gets you a temp ban. I think this is a prime example of why.

The lock was reasonable because the thread wasn't going to get anywhere, but it was partially because of stuff like this

This isn't even vaguely productive. If you spend the required time to even understand it, it's a load of insults and bullshit about the mods he doesn't like. Most of his posts are like this and it's just ridiculous.

Ban the people who posts that kind of bullshit -> Problem solved, no need to lock threads anymore.

I locked the thread because of what the participants as a whole were doing, not because you started it. Initially it was an interesting critique of advertising technique, but it quickly degenerated to people taking pot-shots at each other, and third parties chuckling offensively in the background. Neither constructive or helpful...

I think posts should only be locked if they are in the wrong place, are offensive or if the poster goes off-topic as well... I think trademark was still on topic so I think it should be unlocked...

Which is, of course, exactly the point - if you create a thread and then some idiots troll it, should the thread be locked?

If so, I'm in luck!

When one side of the argument is being immature/inappropriate, their posts are removed and if action is continued they are banned. When both sides are, the thread is locked.

If your thread is locked, your advocates have just as much blame as your opponents.

Non mods can not "lock threads" by posting stupid stuff. If they are independent or representing an agenda they will simply be removed.
