YAY! LOCKED!

neddiedrow wrote:If you can't be civil, you shan't speak at all. This thread is going nowhere fast. Let me take it to the end.
Neddiedrow is accusing i have violated some rules in my locked thread? I am not civil? He is taking it into the end? What kind of end? What did we achieve? Nothing? Yeah.
Can someone please point out a message in the thread which was posted by me and which was not civil?
If neddiedrow wasnt talking about me, then please could some mod remove their messages who acted non-civil and unlock the thread? I even asked that before the lock, but nobody did nothing about it.
This thread locking is getting silly, like we cant have free speech here,
and what certainly pisses me off is when other people can lock threads by posting bullshit. -> then a mod notices it, he just locks it because there was bad messages. That is NOT good moderation.
Do you people seriously think its right to lock threads when other people have messed it up by posting bullshit in purpose to make it locked?

Please do not lock this thread. Let people discuss, okay?

Free speech != idiocy.

It all started when Licho started saying that people participating in conversations is spam, and that spamming CA messages randomly during all times of the day is not.
We don't really need a topic about another topic.

Otherside: just shut the fuck up for once and think before you hit
Submit. It's a pain to read even one post of yours, the spelling is only one part of the problem. I guess I'll just put you on ignore.
If the lobby clients
(no not poking TASClient only
) had proper ways of ignoring parts of a message, like the nickname or message content, this would be much less of an issue. Someone write us up an IRC tunnel 10q.
If you can't be civil, you shan't speak at all.
I don't think neddie meant you in person, more like you as in you all.

On most forums I frequent, posting a "Why did my thread get locked?" thread gets you a temp ban. I think this is a prime example of why.

The lock was reasonable because the thread wasn't going to get anywhere, but it was partially because of stuff like this
aaaw lordmatt go do sumthing productive oh wait none of the BA fanbois do anything productive for the community
neither does Noize all he does is take CA's LUA
on side lols shamon just played CA 1v1
and his build order was 1 con 100 flash and he tried to use 1 flash vs 5 ak and his flash got pwned and he got beaten by core kbot and he raged and said imbalance and isnt gonna play CA again
i lols rilly at BA fanbois :]
This isn't even vaguely productive. If you spend the required time to even understand it, it's a load of insults and bullshit about the mods he doesn't like. Most of his posts are like this and it's just ridiculous.

I locked the thread because of what the participants as a whole were doing, not because you started it. Initially it was an interesting critique of advertising technique, but it quickly degenerated to people taking pot-shots at each other, and third parties chuckling offensively in the background. Neither constructive or helpful...

I think posts should only be locked if they are in the wrong place, are offensive or if the poster goes off-topic as well... I think trademark was still on topic so I think it should be unlocked...

Which is, of course, exactly the point - if you create a thread and then some idiots troll it, should the thread be locked?
If so, I'm in luck!

When one side of the argument is being immature/inappropriate, their posts are removed and if action is continued they are banned. When both sides are, the thread is locked.
If your thread is locked, your advocates have just as much blame as your opponents.
Non mods can not "lock threads" by posting stupid stuff. If they are independent or representing an agenda they will simply be removed.
