Spring RTS Engine

I was wondering if it was possible to play on lan. I've heard it is but for the life of me I can't figure out how. Also, is it necissary to have the .net framework to do this?

start spring.exe yes on "be server" choose a script ("cmd 1000" gives each team a commander and 1000M 1000E)
The other computer start spring, choose No then connect to ip of the server
