Spring RTS Engine

Since a few days ago, spring stopped showing that flowing texture over the starting locations. I also do not see friendly starting positions on the minimap.

This is quite strange as i did not change anything in my spring install, no options, nothing other than occasionally downloading a new CA.

Finally, it seems spring crashes much more often now. Spring crashes are random so it may not be significant, but spring has crashed in EVERY game ever since this little change.

This is on Kubuntu 7.10.

Licho commited replacement lua start boxes that was included in the CA stable released yesterday. This is a very welcome addition. The old start boxes gave me a headache. Other users complained of motion sickness. I think the next spring release should replace them as well.

I miss them. I think the speed could be toned down, but they were much nicer-looking than a simple green/red area.

Im sorry if i wasn't clear. I don't get the boxes in BA.

That's because this is a mod-specific thing. CA just made theirs be like that.

Forget CA. Unless there is a bug where CA is messing up BA. The point is that before i would get the start areas both on the main map with that waving texture and also on the minimap. Additionally, markers would be placed where ppl start.

Now all that is gone. In BA. And it was there before. In BA. And BA wasn't updated meanwhile.
