Spring RTS Engine

I have been experimenting with the ribbon bar controls of the flamingo java library and noticed that they mostly assume SVG vector icons, and that I can also use this to put SVG icons and graphics anywhere I want in the lobby.

I don't know how to make these though and vector graphics aren't my strong point. I need icons in this format for all my main buttons and at the very least a generic icon for when I need one and there isnt one at hand.

This would be of huge help to me and any other lobby developers planning to use svg based icons.

I can help out, depending on what's needed (already got shinier icons for SL).

Well first off I need an icon for:

• starting the game
• locking the game
• unlocking the game
• Exiting the game
• Readying up
• Unreadying
• A generic icon for when I'm waiting for the others to be done or testing
• A smiley picker button icon

Ideally they should all have borders too as the background colour could be anything. No text either, they should be obvious and not need text to be recognised, not that i wont be using text labels.

It would also be nice if I had rank images for all the ranks that matched. Id have sued spring lobbies but they're in a format I cant use for the moment.

I've been looking for one of those dealios for a while now.

Uh they've got win32 stable and dev builds in their download section.

It'll run in Virtualbox too

Have to admit the program is a bit unconfortable sometimes. Especially when it decides to crash for no reason or when it pulls some funny stuff like locking UI elements up. That and it isn't exactly easy to do anything fast in it (other than the spring logo). Kinda like the 16x16 one, someone replace this site's favicon.

They had some windows-related troubles (http://bryceharrington.org/drupal/node/47), so make sure you got the latest windows release...

I already have an svg version of the main spring icon somewhere that matches the icons I made.

Then get inkscape/freehand and start drawing!

Neuralize I am not going to lock ym lobby itno spring at the cost of glest and other engines, nor am I going to take whatever comes out of this 'initiative' and apply it to everything fromt eh lock game icons.

We do not hold our breathes on engine development because microsoft or the C++ standards organisation says so. The lobbies should not do the same.

Rattle I havent the time to learn how to use freehand or inkscape. I have a copy of illustrator but I also have 2 projects to work on course works and now this website to do. I already have enough work as it is and I am asking for help.
