Hiya all :)

I recently bought a new notebook. I used to play on another one without problems, but I started using Windows Vista (home premium).

specs:
  • Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5450 166GHz, 166GHz
  • 3GB RAM
  • external monitor res: 1680x1050
  • Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family graphics
things done so far:
  • changed around the resolution a bit
  • tried compatibility modes
  • all settings to minimal performance
  • tried different settings on vga-card
problems:
  • very low fps (10-15 at start... dropping to 5 or lower :( )
  • very slow gameplay.
its alot slower than my old notebook with lesser specs and i'm at a loss here.

Help anyone?

external monitor res: 1680x1050
Intel 965 Express Chipset
That chipset is terrible, you'll most likely have to halve that resolution.

It's definitely not a gaming one. Also, try disabling Aero (but lower res is a must).

K great, i'll try that for starters... The bug in full screen crashing the card driver was fixed by driver update though... (I read the sticky)

thanks for your swift respons... gonna try immediately :)

update: like a charm.. thanks alot!
